Quick Fixes for Common Cameras Not Working
This guide covers common startup and functionality issues. If your problem is not resolved after following these steps, please contact us with details of the steps you have tried.
1. Camera Displays a Black Screen / Won't Turn On
If your camera seems dead or the screen won't light up, check these two scenarios first:
Scenario A: The camera is asleep (Normal Behavior)
GardePro cameras are designed to turn off the screen to save power while working. This is normal.
- How to wake it up: Press the "Start" or "OK" button, or slide the switch to "SET" (depending on your model). The screen should light up.
Scenario B: The camera does not power up at all
If the screen remains black even after trying to wake it up, follow these "Force Start" steps to reset the system:
- Remove all batteries from the camera.
- Hold down the "Down" arrow button on the keypad.
- While holding the button, plug the USB cable into the camera and connect it to a computer or power bank.
- Slide the switch to "ON" (or "SET").
- Check if the screen lights up and displays "Card Reader" or the menu.
*If this works, your camera is functional. Reinstall fresh non-rechargeable alkaline or lithium batteries. Do not mix old and new batteries.
2. Camera Turns On But Won't Take Photos
If your camera powers up correctly and you can see the menu, but it is not saving images or videos to the SD card (or missing motion triggers), this is usually due to settings configuration or SD card errors.
