Will Placing My Router Inside a Closet or Enclosed Space Affect the GardePro Link Hub Connection?

The router being placed inside a closet or enclosed space will not directly affect the connection between the router and the GardePro Link Hub.

The Link Hub connects to your router through an Ethernet cable (LAN port). Since this is a wired connection, obstacles such as wooden closet walls, panels, or doors will not interfere with the communication between the router and the Hub.

However, the Hub placement is important because the Hub communicates wirelessly with your cameras.

For the best Link system performance:

• Place the Hub in an open area whenever possible.
• For outdoor installations, mount the Hub in a higher location, such as on a rooftop, under an eave, or in another elevated position.
• Avoid placing the Hub inside metal enclosures or areas surrounded by thick walls or large obstacles.
• Keep the Hub antenna unobstructed and positioned properly.

Please note:

Placing your router inside a closet may reduce the router’s general WiFi coverage for other wireless devices nearby. However, as long as the Ethernet connection between the router and Hub remains stable, the router location will not affect the Hub’s wired network connection.
