What Is Overexposure Suppression?

Overexposure Suppression helps reduce overly bright or washed-out areas in photos, especially in scenes with strong or uneven lighting.

The setting controls how strongly the camera suppresses overexposure caused by bright sunlight or other intense light sources.

Available Levels

Overexposure Suppression can be adjusted separately for Daytime and Night:

  • Off — No overexposure suppression
  • Low — Slight suppression
  • Medium — Moderate suppression
  • High — Strongest suppression

The level of suppression increases from Off → Low → Medium → High.

When Should I Use It?

Use a higher level when photos contain areas that appear excessively bright or washed out. For scenes with normal lighting, Low or Off may be sufficient.

This setting helps produce more balanced images when lighting conditions are strong or uneven.
