Why does the camera show the charging icon, but the battery level continues to decrease

The charging icon indicates that the camera is receiving power from the solar panel, but the charging power may not be enough to offset the camera’s current power consumption.

Please check the following:

Check the solar panel installation

• Make sure the solar panel is positioned in direct sunlight.
• Make sure it is not blocked by trees, buildings, or other objects.

Check the weather and sunlight

• On cloudy or rainy days, or when sunlight is insufficient, the solar panel may not generate enough power to maintain the battery level.

Check the camera’s power consumption

• Frequent or continuous recording can significantly increase power consumption.
• Night recording, infrared LEDs, and auxiliary lights can also increase power consumption.

Confirm solar panel compatibility

• SP300: Direct sunlight is required for effective charging.
• 8-AA battery-powered cameras: Only the SP350 solar panel is compatible.

Perform a cross-test, if possible
If you have another camera of the same model, connect the solar panel to it and monitor the battery level.

How to interpret the test results

• Battery level is maintained on the other camera: The original camera or its charging port may be the cause.
• Battery level continues to decrease on the other camera: The solar panel may not be providing sufficient output or may be defective.
• Cross-testing is not possible: Please contact our After-Sales Service team for further assistance.
