- Q17: Can I use an external antenna to improve the signal reception of my R3P camera?
- Q18: What to do if pairing the camera with Hub fails via the APP? (Troubleshooting Camera & Hub Pairing Failures)
Q1: How far can the Hub connect to cameras?
A1: Up to 3,000 ft / 1 km transmission distance in open air, and a proven 1,600 ft / 485 m reliable range in typical use. Actual range may vary depending on obstacles such as walls, trees, or buildings.
Q2: Do I need to pay for a subscription to use the camera’s wireless features?
A2: No subscription is required. The camera includes permanent, free access to the GardePro Link 1.0 Plus Plan at no extra cost. All core connectivity features are included for free, with no monthly or annual fees.
Q3: How many cameras per Hub?
A3: Each Hub can connect up to 16 cameras simultaneously. Cameras connect directly to the Hub and cannot link to each other.
Q4: Are email notifications on by default?
A4: No, enable them in the app’s Notification Settings. Default is off.
Q5: Why are email notifications only sending images, not videos?
A5: Email notifications currently support images only. Videos are not included in email alerts at this time.
Q6: How often are motion emails sent?
A6: On-Demand photos: immediate email notification. Motion detection: summary email every 5 minutes for all cameras, with up to 5 photos per email. You can view additional photos in the GardePro Link app.
Q7: Can I use it without a home network?
A7: No. The Hub must be connected via an Ethernet cable to a home router with DHCP enabled. The cameras rely on the Hub for all wireless communication and cannot connect to Wi-Fi directly.
Q8: Will photos be lost after cloud storage expires?
A8: Original photos stay on SD card. Expired cloud copies are deleted, but app-stored photos remain until cache is cleared.
Q9: Can cameras work independently without Hub?
A9: No. Cameras rely on the Hub for data transfer, notifications, and uploading photos to the app. Without the Hub, the camera can still take photos or videos, but they are stored only on the local SD card and will not be sent to the app or trigger notifications.
Q10: How is the additional camera discount for Plus plan calculated?
A10: The first camera and all additional cameras are included for free with the Plus plan. There is no extra charge per camera.
For full details and to see all available options, please visit our Plus Plan Details page.
Q11: How to share cameras?
A11: Use Camera Sharing in app Profile: enter recipient email → select cameras → send invitation.
Q12: Why doesn’t the camera upload HD photos and videos directly when connected to my home router?
A12: The camera defaults to 540p photos and video preview upload to balance efficiency, stability, and battery life.
- Cloud storage cost: HD photos and videos are 5–10× larger than standard 540p files, which increases storage and transfer costs on Amazon AWS.
- Bandwidth & stability: Even on home Wi-Fi, network speed and reliability vary. Uploading HD files by default may cause failures, delays, or affect remote connectivity. 540p ensures faster, more reliable uploads to the app.
- Power consumption: Uploading large HD files requires the camera to work longer, significantly increasing battery usage. Using 540p helps preserve battery life.
Q13: Which features use cloud services?
A13: All of the following features rely on cloud services powered by Amazon AWS:
Photo Uploads, HD Photo, HD Video, Video Preview, Live Stream, On-Demand, App Notifications, Email Alerts, Camera Sharing, and Maps.
Among these:
- Photo Uploads, HD Photo, HD Video, and Video Preview specifically use cloud storage to save your photos and videos.
- The other features use cloud resources for notifications, live streaming, sharing, and map-related functions.
Q14: The camera and HUB are both offline, how to restore the connection?
A14: Please follow these steps to troubleshoot, starting with the HUB connection status:
- Re-pair the HUB: Remove the current HUB in the App, then re-add and pair it to ensure it connects to the network normally.
- Reset the camera: Restore the camera to factory settings, then re-pair it with the HUB.
Q15: The green light still blinks after re-adding the HUB, what does this mean?
A15: If the green light continues to blink after pairing, it means the HUB has failed to connect to the network. Please check the Ethernet cable connection, router settings, or your network service provider’s connectivity.
Q16: How to check the HUB’s network status via indicator lights?
A16: You can determine the HUB’s working status directly from the lights:

Q17: Can I use an external antenna to improve the signal reception of my R3P camera?
A17: Yes, you can enhance the signal by using a fiberglass antenna with the matching HUB device. The R3P camera does not support direct external antenna connection. Installing a fiberglass antenna on the HUB will boost overall network signal coverage and improve the camera’s connection stability in weak signal areas.
Q18: What to do if pairing the camera with Hub fails via the APP? (Troubleshooting Camera & Hub Pairing Failures)

Solution 1: Complete physical pairing first
- Add the Hub to your APP.
- Long press the Pairing Button on the Hub to enter pairing mode.
- Press the pairing button on the camera, and release it after the camera restarts automatically.
- The Hub and camera will finish pairing automatically.
Solution 2: Physical pairing still fails
- Long press the Reset Button on the Hub for around 15 seconds to restore the Hub to factory default settings.
- Repeat the physical pairing steps above.
- If pairing still fails after factory reset, replace the device for the customer.
Solution 3: Physical pairing succeeds, but the camera does not show up in the APP device list
- Guide the customer to check their router and confirm that the DHCP service of the router is enabled. Disabled DHCP will prevent the APP from detecting devices.
Solution 4: The APP cannot detect the Hub at all
- Restore the Hub to factory settings then search again: Long press the Reset Button for 15 seconds to reset the Hub to factory defaults. After resetting, search for the Hub in the APP again.
Button Instructions (See Diagram Reference)
- Reset Button: Press and hold for 15 seconds to restore Hub factory settings.
- Pairing Button: After adding the Hub to the APP, long press this button to enter pairing mode for connecting with cameras.
