Do I Need to Request a Video Preview in the Link System?

No. Video Preview is sent automatically and does not require a manual request.

When the camera’s capture mode is set to Video or Photo + Video, the camera automatically sends a low-frame-rate video preview without sound to the GardePro Link App after a recording is triggered.

The preview length follows the video length you set on the camera, supporting 3–300 seconds. For a good balance between recording time, upload time, and battery life, we recommend setting the video length to 10–20 seconds.

The Video Preview lets you quickly check the recording. If you want to view the full-quality version with sound, you can then request the HD video from the app.

For the GardePro Link system, HD video requests are free. Unlike GardePro Cellular Cameras, you do not need a separate HD video subscription or pay a fee for each HD video request.

This approach allows you to quickly review video previews and only request the full HD video when needed, helping reduce unnecessary upload time and battery consumption.

In short:

  • Video Preview: Automatically sent after each video recording — no request needed.
  • HD Video: Manually requested when you want the full high-definition video with sound — free on the Link system.
  • Cellular Cameras: HD video requests may require an active HD video subscription.
  • Original Video: Always saved to the camera’s SD card and can be accessed directly from the card.
